Presidential Candiates Part 3

July 12th 2008 01:32

What happens in the US does affect the world as does our actions. So, here’s my not so sage advice; pay attention to the upcoming presidential elections.

Don’t play Ostrich, this election will affect your world ~ like it or not.

Part 3 ~ USA. A candidate’s rating of friend and foe matters.

Top 10 Friends most of the time ~ 51% and up

1. Canada
2. UK
3. South Korea
4. Mexico
5. Australia
6. England
7. Japan
8. Taiwan
9. Thailand
10. Poland
11. Romania
12. Pacific Islanders in general

Top 10 Friends of convenience ~ 50% loyal or less

1. Israel-loyal when convenient
2. Egypt-loyal when they aren’t being invaded
3. France-loyal only to their garlic and whine
4. Mexico-twin faced drug dealers
5. Turkey
6. India and Sri Lanka
7. Philippines
8. Germany
9. Iraq-loyal only when they aren’t making back room deals
10. South America in general

Top 10 Foes ~ eh, no loyalty

1. Iran – nice population, despotic leaders; want war
2. Russia – wants to be a world power again
3. Egypt – self serving ingrates
4. China – is an up an coming world power to reckon with
5. N Korea – despotic lunatic leader
6. Venezuela- lunatic fringe
7. Afghanistan-illiterate thugs devoid of world vision
8. Middle East in general-aren’t to be trusted
9. Africa in general- can count on these folks to rape and loot their own
10. Cuba-impotent remnants of the 20th century

These are some views that I would like to have answered, not spun, but answered. My views are sort of clear. What are your questions?

Raven

You know Raven that list goes both ways.

Each country can ask the same of the USA.

And they ought to Damo, they need to hold the US to its agreements. And I am sure that they do.

Hiya Norm, I lumped them in under the UK.

I pared this random group from 60 plus countries.

Friend one week, Foe the next, you know how it goes.

Raven -- oh, man -- you're killing me -- what's France doing on that second list of the so-so's?

Just picture Jacqes Chirac over and over and I guarantee you'll take our "first ally" off that list.

The French have been a royal pain in our rears since the First Deerfield Massacre Raid that occured just a few miles up the road from me. That was something like three centuries ago. Only they "outsourced" their butchery to the Indians.

Keep on posting!

Also
India and Sri Lanka are not the same country and have vastly different foreign policies.
You might as well lump Pakistan with India as those two.

hahaha, sorry Anonymous, I should have dumped them on the last list, but I'm being generous due to new leadership; but rated them with a caveat. And, French naval help did assist GW to win American revolution.

First Deerfield Massacre Raid: 1704 ~ Deerfield Mass. and included Abenaki warriors aligned with the French.

Wow, you know how to hold a grudge that's for sure.

Well, I know, but for the most part, they like the USA and that's why I joined them; no slight intended ~ but your point is well taken.

I like the fact that you included Friends of Convenience on this list. I think those countries are the ones to watch because today's allies are often tomorrow's foes. Look at how bitterly we fought Germany and Japan a generation ago and now look where they are.

My only question would have to be what happened to the UK.

Good observation and take about the UK, but they're on the first list, we fight and squabble like family siblings but we always seem to find a way to kiss and make up. But they were a sneeze away from another spot . . .

There had to be a friends of convenience list.

So the first top-10 list has 12 items, and Egypt makes it onto the "Convenience" list and the "Foes" list. This hardly jumps out at me as a paragon of carefully thought out classification.

Was it supposed to?

Egypt suffers an odd plurality for me, they are judged properly and belong where they are.

However, I could be struck by a lightening bolt of clarity, sanity or reason and revise my opinion. It could happen ~ really, it could.

Clarity, sanity or reason?, that would be just so hard to bear. That doesn't sound like you at all, good fellow, thanks for treating my other reply with the very obvious disregard it deserved.

Raven, I'm so glad this is you and not me.
