OK Alaska ~ Secede now....

March 31st 2008 14:16
Alaska, break free now....please!!!
The Bush administration, positing another knee jerk reaction, is proposing the biggest overhaul of financial regulation since the Great Depression. This is flawed thinking and will ruffle feathers; guaranteed.

The bulky document, printed on recycled toilet paper and which was to be released Monday by Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson, proposes giving broad new powers to the Federal Reserve to combat the type of severe credit crisis currently gripping financial markets

...the Nuclear Option and McCain

March 2nd 2008 22:01
We have a presidential candidate, John McCain who is earnestly seeking the highest office in the land (the USA, its that little country south of Alaska and Canada) and he now has quite the following of hopeful supporters cheering him on towards the Whitehouse. He is a veteran, a former POW and an honorable man for the most part. The critique was proffered by a member of an intelligence gathering organization with probably no more than three initials in its name. Who politely, but without vagary, suggested that the guest didn’t know what he was talking about where it involved the Intelligence Community.

So, take this comment with a grain of salt or sand: I am aware of a young man, serving in Afghanistan as a sniper, whose team had worked itself into a position to take out Osama. When he called in to for permission to fire, he was denied permission and was ordered to stand down, but maintain surveillance and continue to gather information. This incident occurred in the last several months near the border of Pakistan
