... the Faces of a Bigoted Hypocrite

"..there are some rogue elements in the world's religions that give them all a bad name."
Before yielding to the urge to post a negative response to a knee jerk reactionary's comments, usually the opines' of a select few, consider my opening remark. It's a broadly painted statement that should merit consideration.
Milk toast religious teachers or authors of nearly all faiths and belief systems, try to appear strong by taking on topics seen from their lofty point of view as obvious issues, often without benefit of real research, and selectively forgetting that they are to be held to a higher standard than others. They live in the nosebleed sections of life's stadium, afraid to get soiled down in the mud and muck of real life.
Right now, the hot topic in the spiritual realm is issues involving Islam. While slow in speaking out, many Muslims are doing just that. But the penalty they face for standing up against the radical elements of Islam is far more severe than that meted out by radical elements of Christianity. Both deserve an opportunity to evolve and mature. Christianity is by no stretch of the imagination fully matured, yet; no spiritual faith system is even close at this point in time.
Radical Arab's have killed Christians and Muslims, Jews have killed Muslims, Christians have killed Christians, Hindu's have killed Muslims and Christians, pick any religious combination and you will probably find guilt. Killings have been justified as honor killings, defense of the faith, proselytizing~ the list seems endless.
Recently Heath Ledger died. Ledgers death was tragic, but the bigger tragedy is the harm being done to his reputation by malevolent, narrow minded religious groups] speaking out of turn. He should go to hell because of his craft and a role he played? If that is true, then shouldn't everyone that voted for a government or official that advocated going to war, go to hell as well? What convoluted and twisted reasoning.
So, what's the answer? Censorship in any form is disturbing, even nut cases have the right to be scoffed at in the arena of ideology in the cyber world. Take one of our own Orble'rs for example, who posted a recent article with this headline: Heap Big Injun, modified for emphasis.
This particular author (Ms Heap Bigoted Bird Brain) claims the right to defame First Nations People because of her assertional that she is part Cherokee, but many Euro mutts make the same claim. Having traced the bulk of mankind's Mitochondrial DNA back to Africa, do I now have the right to call black's by unflattering deviations of Niger? Hardly.
When questioned about the usage, she assaulted the character and thinking of this author, and implied that the vagaries of the post were missed; don't flatter yourself Ms Heap Bigoted Bird Brain, your supposed subtleties are to glaring to be tripped over without concerted effort. Practice researching your topics, and learn to write what you think you mean.
Now go away, you bother me.

Ah, you do it so well my friend!
Although I have very strong opinions on a vast array of subjects I usually dont speak on them, just because I know Im a lazy whiner and likely, if I get worked up my opinion will come before my good sense and research.
On Islam, Ive made no final decision. Id like to speak to people it works for before I damn them utterly for not believing in the 'true' God.
And, Just FYI, when Kyle and Jackie O mentioned to Shirley - "So you think Heath deserves to be in hell?" they recieved a scathing tirade from her saying he WAS in hell. Get it straight you radio morons!
Love that DNA line, plus - 'write what you think you mean'! Awesome work Raven.....

Anyway, thank you for your thoughtfulness and at least giving the Islam topic time to develop further history in the face and pace of todays sound byte news system. Truth will be rise to the top. I still have reservations about Islam, but am now beginning to see perimeter shifts that are encouraging to say the least.
Ah, the DNA comment, where can you go when someone is trying to play the race card to validate an argument, she played race card, I played factual card, and as for the other....well, darn, you're far more familiar with the thoughtless rantings that have originated from her camp than I am.
All of that aside, thank you for your kind comments. Raven

My Apologetics
From the parliament of New South Wales Australia.
READ THIS:
Religious vilification laws: The 2004 HEREOC report, Isma—Listen: National Consultation on Eliminating Prejudice Against Arab and Muslim Australians found that the majority of Arab and Muslim women canvassed had experienced an increase in violence or offensive remarks since the September 11 attacks and the first Bali bombings. The report commented: ‘The lack of protection under NSW anti-discrimination law was of particular concern to Muslims in NSW, where the majority of Australian Muslims live’. HEREOC recommended that Federal law be introduced making unlawful discrimination on the ground of religion or belief. Commonwealth vilification laws on the ground of religion or belief were also recommended. (page 57)
At present religious vilification laws exist in three Australian jurisdictions – Queensland, Victoria and Tasmania. Laws that restrict free speech by making unlawful vilification on the ground of religion are extremely controversial. The encouragement of tolerance in a multicultural society is one thing; its enforcement by means of religious vilification laws something different again. Very strong advocates can be found on both sides of the argument, for and against such laws. In NSW, this has proved to be the case in respect to the Anti-Discrimination Amendment (Religious Tolerance) Bill 2005. Both the Government and Opposition have declined to support the Bill on policy grounds. (page 69)

Thanks Kleo, it's good to know that censorship isn't totally the rule of law at present. But, we must remain vigilant I suppose.
I appreciate all visitor's, even if I don't agree with your point of view, I love to hear from you. Raven
